Post-COVID-19 Therapy in Newport Beach

Experienced Care for Your Health & Well-Being

COVID-19 has been at the forefront of everyone’s minds around the world. The virus which leads to COVID-19 is SARS CoV2. Abnormal communication leads to the activation of white blood cells which begin to attack organs they really do not intend to attack. Post-COVID-19 Syndrome can linger for months or longer affecting the lungs, heart, and brain. There is treatment for those experiencing continuing effects and, given that there is still much to be learned, it is important to establish care with a lung expert to decrease the risk of long-term damage. People experiencing long-term COVID-19 symptoms in Orange County are encouraged to see Dr. Rutland for post-COVID-19 therapy in Newport Beach

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

During your first appointment, we will perform a full pulmonary workup – spirometry, lung ultrasound, EKG, pulse oximetry, and a full patient intake to learn about your medical history, activity, and goals. Depending on your symptoms, a walk test and echo may also be used. Oftentimes, labs will be drawn and in some cases, a bronchoscopy, biopsy, chest x-ray, and/or CT scan will be needed to garner further information.

Continuation of Care

Continuation of care is patient-specific. After your initial appointment and a care plan has been implemented, you will receive at least two follow-up appointments to monitor the progression or reversal of your symptoms. There are cellular communication inhibitors that have shown to counteract these symptoms. It is important to know that you don’t have to wait for your symptoms to subside but that you can actively renew your health.
